You'll probably see a lot more sinkholes in Ohio with all the fracking that's going on in that state.

Yep, the jury's still out on that. It'll be interesting to see what all the residual effects are.

Where I grew up in Southern Illinois we had mine subsidence which is similar to a sink hole. The school that I attended fell in and a new school had to be built.

There are a lot of old undocumented old coal mines in that area also. It is not that uncommon to have a sink hole but the size is amazing.
A few years back there was a sink hole starting to form right along the side of I-77 south of Akron as you head to Canton in the city of Green and before the Akron Canton airport. They pumped a lot of concrete into that hole.

It always amazes me that people think Florida is the only state with sinkholes
