I have tile in the whole house. What vacuum cleaner is best? Upright? Canister? Bagless?

I have some large carpets at the front and back doors, and in the living room.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I had an 8 pound (original upright) Oreck that did a great job on all kinds of floors. Had bags, but they weren't horrible.

Advantages: easy to maneuver, great motor, smaller footprint for storage
Disadvantages: Wand attachment was awkward to use. I like using a crevice tool.... that part didn't cut it for me.

I now have a (no bag) Dyson with the ball pivot. It's not my favorite to use at all, but picks up fine. Took me awhile to get the hang of driving it, and you must be an octopus to figure out the built in attachment contraptions.
Too much money too.

If I ever buy another, it will be a lightweight one with a wand that I can wear like a backpack. Seriously.

We just got the "SHARK" professional model from Best Buy. I can't believe what a great job it does on both the tile and carpet. Price wasn't bad, either. It can be a regular vacuum, or a hand held portable. Comes with all kinds of attachments. Can you tell I like my "SHARK"?????:coolsmiley::MOJE_whot::2excited:

We had tile in our previous home and I bought a Bissel steam cleaner. It did a good job but was a pain to use. Here I purchased a Shark with special tile attachment. It does a good job but to be honest I think it is alot of trouble too. Maybe I'm just lazy cuz I mostly use the inexpensive and easy to use swifter. Keep it simple. :beer3:

Have tile and wood so we use Miele canister. Very quiet in comparison to other vacs. We just use the citric spray that the guy who sealed our tile uses. Just a quick spray and mop with washable pad. Same with wood floors use a spray and washable mop pad.
