I was happy to see that you have closed some threads due to unkind or mocking responses to original posters genuine concerns or inquiries! I have learned so much from TOTV over the past couple of years but at the risk of being labeled "thin skinned", I no longer enjoy participating on the forum because so many posters seem downright mean-spirited in their responses! I do appreciate Gracie and others who post such valuable information and they are, by far, the majority of TOTV contributors. TOTV is a treasure trove of information for new or wannabe Villagers. It's a shame that a few bad apples can spoil the whole barrel!

And of course you are correct Wendy. But just like any venue you have the LARGE majority who offer constructive answers or criticism regarding a post. Please don't let the JERKS spoil your enjoyment of TOTV's. There's a lot more Gracie's out there then there are JERKS.

Yes, I was pleased to see you step in. I've been missing here for several months and have come back and been pretty active for a few weeks. It seems in every discussion that questions anything about the villages, some of the very first responses are very defensive and unfortunately very personal in their tone. Glad you are watching. We should be able to disagree and discuss in an adult manner.

I agree!! Unfortunately there are always a few who want to spoil a good thing. Maybe that few will lay low for a while.

I also learned: "Latin is a language as dead as dead can be. First it killed the Romans and now it's killing me!"

I find it particularly amusing that people are complaining about rude, nasty, unfriendly, etc, etc kinda posts.....amuusing only because that is what way too many folks used to complain about the political forum.

Seems like the "small number" that spoil it for everybody exist on other forums as well.

How uterly AMAZING!!!!! (and amusing!!!!).

You are right and God forbid any of these forums turn sour like the one that is no longer here. I must admit that when I read the thread you refer to, I thought it was meant to be funny. Apparently I was wrong and I apologize to the OP. I praise the TOTV for being the wonderful source of information that has saved me time and money over the years.
My lesson learned: Look for the good in everything and leave the bad to itself.
