View Full Version : New roof from Ownings
Our house was built in 2003 and probably out of all warranties. However, I heard Ownings, the manufacturer of our roofs, claims many roofs were defective. Apparently, a rep came out and committed to a new roof. Has anyone heard of this before? What is the procedure to ask for a review of your roof?

Here's a link to an article about this issue. You can also do a search on TOTV for Owens Roofing and read several threads about it. I believe you had to notify Owen by Dec 2011 to file a claim but I think they extended the date. For your own piece of mind, you can call the warranty department. They will give you the name of the roofer that installed your roof and the type of shingles used. Then call Owens at 1-800- ROOFING. They will tell you if those shingles were part of the bad batches. Hopefully, they will tell you that there is nothing wrong with yours.
