Yesterday we saw a plant in someone's landscaping that we loved. Took a picture of it and were going to take it to the nursery to buy one since we had the perfect spot for it. Hubby decided to knock on the door and ask the person the name of the plant. What a nice guy!! He said he didn't know the name of it, but that it spreads and offered to give us a small plant about 8 inches tall that was a baby of the large one. Every day I continue to be amazed as to what great and generous people who live here. If any one can identify this plant, I would love to know the name of it. Thanks all!

It looks like an agave or a yucca plant to me.Don't think it's an agave, but yucca is a possibility. It kind of looks like a flax lily to me, but then again I'm no plant expert. I'm hoping that it isn't one of those that grows to 30 foot tall and is a domesticated version that stays short. I think it is a succulant since the leaves are thick and hearty and remind me of a cactus.

The growths on the Faux Lilys are more like the kind of palms leaves you would find being used at Churches on Palm Sunday, except shorter! Generally speaking Yucca's can grow up to 8 feet and there are about 40-50 species of them. Besides I'm happy with our Faux Lily!
