Better check your statement vs. your receipt. My receipt and my statement didn't agree. The mistake was in their favor. The duty manager refunded the difference telling me it was an honest mistake. Maybe it was. Maybe it wasn't.
If my charge was mixed up with someone else's charge then there were TWO errors made that night. A server who makes errors totaling up their tips one night may be prone to make "mistakes" on other nights as well.
I'VE NEVER HAD A RECEIPT AND A STATEMENT DISAGREE. EVER.
I'm not talking a lot of money here, but I still had to go to Havana, talk to the manager, wait while he verified the charges and refunded the money. Maybe some people wouldn't go through the effort for a few bucks, but it was the principle that mattered to me.
From now on at restaurants I'm paying only with cash.
