Like 07 mentioned this should not have any impact on TV as it is west of I-75.

Wildwood to the Max is my vote, Gracie. Think we should sign up for rock climbing or truck pulls? :beer3:

Thank you, 07, for the update.

I own property in the Oak Hill subdivision, undeveloped of course, and this butts up to it. It is definately WEST of I-75, think of going under 75 towards Inverness. Personally, I feel my property values will drop and I am against it!

Just like the lady that stopped me during my morning walk and asked for help. This was south of Bonita Blvd. on the cart path next to Morse and just near the top of the hill. She wanted to get to the other side of Morse. Okay but then she showed me on her map where she wanted to go and that was near Cane Garden. I told her to turn around and take Bonita to Bailey and take a right and it will be on the left. I even pointed this out to her on the map. She said she understood and we parted ways. As I continued my walk towards Bonita I hear her pull away and thinking she would turn around and follow my directions. Nope, she continued towards Havana. Oh well, I tried.

You are right,, it will be right up against your neck of the woods,, If you were going west on 44. Go under 75. about 1 mile or so and turn right on 475. go up about another mile, it will be on the left where CR-462 meets 475.

West of Wildwood is far enough from The Villages to be no problem. It does sound like a real Florida redneck attraction. Not to be a pessimist, but I do not see an attraction like that being a successful venture - and it could be an eyesore even after it would go bankrupt.

This could be a good thing. If they have some good concerts. May be able to have classical music at times. And for those with children and grandchildren, a place to play.

Next time you leave the bubble notice how many Mud trucks and ATV & Quads you see on the road. This is a pretty large venue in sunny Florida. I would bet it draws a pretty good crowd. Good for Wildwood and the Fast Food places around that area. As for the outside concert area, who knows who they will draw. At least they'll use theirs, we have a Polo Field that could be used for an outdoor concert area and it doesn't.

I am a bit disappointed with some of the cat calls from residents here. They are entirely unnecessary and it might surprise some here to learn that this type of venue has wide appeal across the country.

I am sure that this proposed Entertainment venue will be a boom for the area. I hope they include a rodeo or two because I rather watch a rodeo than a football game.

If everyone enjoyed the same thing they would only sell Vanilla ice cream.

Ain't gonna go to no rodeo. Too much horse poop.

Some of those so quick to judge should see one of the biggest attractions in Naples, Fl (outside of overpriced golf) . Yes, folks, its the Swamp Buggy Races. SRO 4 times every year, and its not all rednecks.

O.K. I was having a little fun. But I didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelers.

I am an Ohio girl. We are proud to be from farming stock. I ain't no smarty pants city girl.

But I am too sissy to be racing around and goin' through mudholes.

I am sure someone is going to have a lot of fun with this park.

Someone asked what a Florida Redneck was. It is not an offensive term but is a Florida person who likes the outdoors and things like those proposed at the park "an open air stage providing for a music venue seating approximately 7500 patrons, ATV and 4x4 riding trails and mud holes, 4x4 mud/sand track area, 4x4 rock climb area, picnic/camping areas, adventure run mud/water course, tractor/truck pull area, and grass parking area."

You would not see that in New York City for the public to have their fun doing those things.

This would not infringe on The Villages one bit.

to some here a "FL redneck" is obviously anyone who does not live in TV.

There is such a familiar echo in threads where some do not go along with a given premise or thought or belief.

Hmmmnnnn now what IS IT that behavior reminds me of....about?:D

If a redneck is a person with genuine kindness in his/her soul, unafraid to get dirty when they work and enjoys country music and home cookin' and hasn't completed a college education, but is working toward security for himself and his family by not spending every dime he/she makes and likes beer more than wine and hasn't been to charm school.

Then he sounds like a person I would like a lot and I could be one myself. I try hard.

I am so blessed to know so many people with so many different ways of living and doing things. The one thing that matters most to me is whether they have a sense of responsibilty to their family and their fellow man..or woman.

If Jeff Foxworthy comes to do a venue, he can explain.......You might be a Redneck........

OldDave
01-10-2013, 10:22 AM
My very favorite Jeff Foxworthy line of all times is:

"If you mother doesn't take the unflitered Camel out of the corner of her mouth when she tells the Highway Patrolman to 'Kiss her ass', you might be a redneck"

That was my mother all over...but it is my strongest hope that it isn't inherited. Or at least wasn't in my case.

Although I have been personally guilty of this one:

"If your current TV is sitting on top of your old TV that no longer works, you might be a redneck"

Hey, the old one had a really nice wood cabinet and I didn't know what to do with it. (I eventually pulled the guts out and threw them away and put the new TV in the cabinet.) hmm, maybe too late for me afterall.

Let me get this straight....concert venue(very popular here), mudding(very popular here), airboat racing(very popular here), 4x4 racing(very popular here), but it's not going to be successful. Sorry, but there are tons of people outside The Villages, and I would venture to guess a few in The Villages (me being one) who would love this type of venue. Believe it or not, but some people like other things besides golf, bocce ball, driving golf carts and other activities inside the bubble. I have friends, colleagues, students and their families that do all of these things EVERY weekend. Now, to have a common area where they can compete and socialize with others, sounds awesome.

I read back and didn't see anyone bitching about Wildwood. Many of us have never been to a park like this. IN FACT I didn't see ONE negative post on here except from people who were responding to what they thought were negative posts. Read them all from the very beginning. No one is fuedin' a fightin and a fussin'. Some people are alwys madeningly positive and others are always ouchy negative.

You learn something new every day.

This kinda park is new to me. I might just be over there once a week.

Personally, I'm there if they offer roller derby - especially if the local Brett Musburger will say over the PA - "Thunder Thighs" our number one jammer is in the box...oh my".... to me short of gladheaterher games - that real sports talk. Whether you enjoy it for the competition or irony..it is a uniting force in our culture. Plus, you can usually buy a good all beef dog and some suds.
