Is this a "sample" survey? Or does everybody get one?

Every resident gets a Survey. It can be completed online. If you haven't received one yet, it will arrive soon!

With two dogs allowed per household, we have only three very small Village-owned dog parks for thousands and thousands of dogs.

Please don't forget to add in the comment: MORE DOG PARKS ARE NEEDED.

you might also note that some of us considering buying there would be more likely to buy one of the new places if there was a dog park there....

Dear Hope.

I understand what you are saying, but it doesn't appear that they are having any trouble selling homes these days.

Many of us would love to see another dog park and will surely check it off on the survey.

HOWEVER...WHERE?

There are some folks who would really get their knickers in a hitch if a dog park was out their back door. We all know who they are.

I believe everyone gets one in the mail - comes with your own code number to log on with; however, not available till 8am on March 13th so watch for it in your mailbox.

I assume any future dog parks would have to be in isolated areas, probably areas zoned commercial, perhaps next to a Fire Hall like the Bonita Dog Park. That way the fire sirens can cover any puppy barks!

I wonder where a dog park will rank in the 'needs/wants' section of the survey in comparison to grocery stores and churches! ;)

I think grocery stores, restaurants and other shopping definitely falls into the needs category. Commercial development is profit-driven, and will definitely happen as The Villages grows larger. And larger. And larger.

Dog parks actually aren't an issue for us personally, I don't have a horse in this race. We pay to take our two dogs each day to a private dog park. We don't mind paying, and we'll continue to do that. However I think a few more small dog parks would go a long way to lessen some of the friction currently felt by those who don't want to see dogs walked at the postal stations or in the neighbourhood.

The surveys letters are out and we received ours yesterday. The survey does start on 3/12 @ 8am and it ends on 4/7 at midnight. On the letter it provides one of those access codes for each individual on record as living in the household. If you think you should have received a letter with the codes and haven't by the 13th or if you have any questions, you can call the District Customer Service center at 753-4508.
