Anyone know what circumstances were that allowed the Villa De La Mesa Homeowners Assn to be formed? There are a group (139 units) of Courtyard Villas just North of Rio Grande Blvd. They have their own HOA. There is a privately owned park and pool for residents of the villas that is owned by their HOA. Residents of the villas are also Villagers and pay amenity fees just like the rest of us and also pay a fee to their HOA. In addition to The Villages restrictions, the HOA also has their own restrictions. The HOA is responsible for pool maint, grounds maint, landscaping, architectural compliance, budgeting, etc.
There is one other HOA in The Villages that I know of and that is Hickory Head Hammock which has restricted access. Anyone know of others?

I would guess that the De La Mesa HOA was established as a way for the homeowners to share the cost of maintaining the pool and park equally. It has been suggested, on this forum, that those villas were originally built for Life Style Visits.
Hickory Head Hammock was built as an enclave for the developer, other family members and co-workers when they moved across from the historical side.
There are no other HOA's in TV. The two-story villas immediately surrounding Spanish Springs are set up as condominiums.

I believe that the villas next to Glenview CC are also condominiums, with maintenance of yards/common areas.
