What are the prices and the bonds on these new premier homes? When I checked on Bridgeport at Laurel Valley, prices were $475,000 to $1,000,000 and bonds were around $50,000. Yes, they sell quickly for the best lots.

Golf course lots are around 180-220K.
You can by a house for the lot price alone.

For that price, do you get a guarantee that there's no big old sink hole under the lot?

Nope! lol Nor do you get a guarantee that you will have priority at golf courses, restaurants, stores, or anywhere else! Someone with a patio villa at 50% of the LOT price has the same privileges. That I think is so cool and good for all. If someone wants to pay those prices, more power to them for living the lifestyle they want. But others can pay much less and live the good life here too! :pepper2:

That was one of the great appeals that sold me on TV-that you could live in a community without snooty exclusivity for under $100,000 and well over a million or two, and enjoy the same perks. Kind of like the closest we'll come to a little utopia in a capitalistic country. Love that!!! Can't wait to be there :pepper2:

That's my plan.Buy a home for 100k or under, put 300k (retirement money) in the bank. Have the same perks as everyone else, and enjoy my last 15 or 20 years.

Deciding on how you want to live is an ongoing process and our beliefs change along the way for myraid reasons. But one thing is always constant and that is all this planning comes to making tradeoffs most often owing to time and/or money.
So especially in this phase of our lives we must choose carefully what trade offs we are willing to make.
Generall speaking there obviously isn't a right or wrong. Having said that we are reminded that sometimes fate steps in.
The best of everything to you all. I hope your choices turn out well for you.
Enjoy your day

The Villages real agent we worked with to purchase our property made a statement to us as we were driving around looking at the options, and we will always remember it. He stated, "When you're dancing on the square and having fun with everyone, no one knows where you live." :a040:

And no one cares.
And no one cares what you did in your past life, whether you were head of a company or joe blow.
Most people don't anyway. I LOVE that.
We all put on our golf shoes one foot at a time. ;)

That's really true wherever you are in the world. That's why the auto companies have done such a great marketing job with their cars.
Who's going to follow you home?

That is really not much different from the Country as a whole, except for the golf. People can not buy a pass to the front of the line in a Restaurant. It is a triumph of Capitalisim.
