I know I read it somewhere on a post but I can't find a recent one. Does anyone know if you can purchase a package of appliances from the Villages during Design, but then ask the supplier to bring an upgraded or different model of one or all the appliances before they install the ones you don't want. For instance, I REALLY, REALLY want an Induction cooktop and a Convention Wall Oven. If they are not available, I heard that in the past the villages installer/supplier of appliances may work with you in advance and bring out and install what you want, or maybe come back and reinstall what you want for a small fee. Any word on that? And who is the main supplier of the Villages Appliance Packages?

Here is how it worked for us when we built a Sun Kissed in 2011...
We selected the basic kitchen appliances. When the build started, we asked our sales rep to find out which appliance dealer got our job. There are two dealers - ours was Del-Air.
When we called Del-Air, we were told the credit we could get for the basic refrigerator (we were very happy with the amount). We told them the model refrigerator we wanted and we were quoted the price for it. When we agreed, they sent us a quote.
The appliance dealer must install the models that are in your Villages contact. Because of this, we arranged for the exchange of the refrigerators to occur on the day after we closed.
To add to this... we chose not to buy a washer/dryer pair in our Villages contract (they were a yes/no option). We bought a washer/dryer pair directly from Del-Air. We got the exact models we wanted and they were delivered when the refrigerator exchange took place.

Thanks for the info...we contacted Del-Air, and unfortunately they no longer have that option. They said they will no longer swap out/exchange/upgrade your Villages appliances. However, they will sell you a new one at Builders prices and move the old appliance to where you want in the house (garage, etc) but we would be responsible for selling, donating or disposing of it. Too bad, as we were hoping to do that too.

We had TV only install the microwave because you have to have that to to get your certificate of occupancy. We received a credit of about $1700 toward the cost our house then went out and bought what we liked. We set the delivery date for the day after we close.
