Advice needed on who I should use, and what I should expect to pay, for an annual service of my home's air-conditioning system
I do not want to sign up for a year's cover, just have it serviced
Thank you

we have found over the years that the installer of the equipment is usually the best but.
We use Munns because that is who did the installation during the build of our home.
I do not have a contract with them for service. But I do have them come in each spring for an annual check up and filter replacement (special filters).
It usually runs around $129 with about $30-40 being the cost of the filters.
Others have come along offering lower price (to get the business) but I like the established history and follow up of our installation.
And oh by the way Munns HVAC service people do an excellent job.

Chuck Farrell...Heating and Air Conditioning .... 352-753-9497 Annual checkup will be about $55-60, he is fair and honest. NO contracts required and they will call you in a year when you are due.

Thank you, good people
Sunshine (the installers) have quoted $123 which is in-line with Munns, but I'll give Mr. Farrell a shot this year and see how it goes

Very happy with this contractor - two men arrived as scheduled, took 45 minutes for full service, and charged $55 as expected

I don't know if all a/c filters are the same but we are having a really hard time finding the unusual size of ours. Has anyone else had this problem and if so where did you get the filters. A/C company wants $50.00 for this filter.
thanking you in advance

I bought the wrong size (from WalMart) so just overlapped two of them together and it works fine - it got the "ok" from the service company :-)

We used Sumter Air and Heat, as we had "strange " Sized filters also. They were on time, charged $80 plus the filters, and were here for quite a while and did a very thorough job, in my opinion. Very personal and seemed very honest. I have complimented them on here before, because we feel as if we were treated so fairly. They did not pressure us, as our previous provider had. Hence, the reason they are our "previous provider". Sumter comes highly recommended.
