If you had only one choice of the town squares, which square SS, LSL or Brownwood would you pick?

I don't go to the squares much anymore because of all the other places that have dancing but I think I prefer LSL. I liked SS a lot before they redid it but I will miss the lovely trees that we had as shade.

LSL for us!

Lake Sumter Landing is closest to us but I love that a lot of the beautiful music, say from The Villages Voices and The Villages Philharmonic are performed at the venue at Spanish Springs. Some new people do not know that the Church on the Square is not a church primarily but a place where music is performed. For a long time I thought it was just religious music.

Now I am not against that sort and I know they have church service Sunday there but most of the time it is a place for incredibly beautiful music, classic and EVERY KIND.

I love Lake Sumter Landing because my favorite place to eat, or one of them is The Lighthouse with the view of Lake Sumter.

AND I love Brownwood because I just am crazy about the Farmers Market on Saturday.

I don't know.

We liked both SS and LSL. We couldn't decide which we liked the most so we bought in the middle of each. Got the best of both squares. About a 7-8 minute cart ride from each.

We live near LSL so that is our favorite, I love the Spanish "feel" at Spanish Springs. Brownwood Is a little far for us but I love the Farmers market and the theater there. They are all great....guess it just depends on my mood.

LSL for dancing, SP for people watching and going to Katie Belles afterward.

I prefer SS but living halfway to both squares by cart is my preference. I will need to take the car to Brownwood when I get there.

Tough choice, like "which do you like better, prime rib, lobster, or barbeque ribs"?

My personal favorite is Brownwood, so I guess now I'll whine and rant about the other two.

I prefer Spanish Springs as I just posted in the Brownwood thread. Not because the square is better, but because there is so much other shopping and dining in the areas immediately next to it. I guess as to taste I think it's prettier than LS. Of course I don't care about dancing or music much, so my vote probably isn't as valid as those who do.

Whichever square you prefer, after the first flush of love, you may find that you don't visit the Squares as frequently as you imagined. It would be interesting to see a poll on how often residents visit the Squares after a year has elapsed.

It appears as if LSL will continue to be crowded even after Brownwood is built

I like LSL because of the beachfront feel of the buildings and the boardwalk. The sunset there is gorgeous.

Hey, I am a full-time Villager and loving every minute. I do not have to choose between the 3 town squares. All have good entertainment and bar service. What more do we need?

Lake Sumter Landing, hands down. We go at least once a week and sometimes just to sit on a bench and gaze at the lake. Just a relaxing atmosphere.

I like all three of them, for different reasons.

Spanish Springs has always had that "more intimate" feel to it, as it seems a little smaller. Certainly, with all of the surrounding shopping venues and restaurants, it's a popular square.

Lake Sumter Landing has a very large dance area and is a good place to experience the more popular entertainers. The setting, on the lake at sunset, is spectacular!

Brownwood is in it's infancy, but the sound system is second to none. For me, I like the stage in that location, as I don't necessarily like sitting "behind" the band. I also really like the bleachers, although I need to take along a seat cushion for longer sitting times. The Barnstorm theater is phenomenal! My hope is that RT44 will develop into large commercial zone, similar to RT441/27 in Lady Lake. I just hope Wildwood capitalizes on the opportunity...

I believe the developer has done a great job of creating different atmospheres in the three squares.

Is it just me but the first time I visited TV, I was at SS a lot and there is something about seeing somthing for the first time that you love. It's sort of like like listening to the original version of a song that makes other versions seem not as good.

Anyhow, it's probably just me but I like the feel of SS. I will have to check out the sunsets at LSL. I also agree depending on what is going on, the best square is the one your in.

We prefer LSL whenever we visit (we wouldn't be full-time until June). IMHO it has a clean, beachy feel to it. Those giant margaritas at RJ Gators aren't bad either!

My friends and I had THE best experience last Friday night enjoying the great sound of Kick Trax at LSL. Everyone was up and dancing and this one man band was absolutely incredible! If we could bring this guy back to The Villages Town Squares more often and rotate him around to all three Squares, I think that the distance from SS to Brownwood wouldn't be an issue. If we have great entertainment like that, people will flock to wherever he is playing. Doesn't have to be the squares even...country clubs or restaurants would be wise to find out how to book an entertainer like Kick Trax..
