Stayed at the Plantation Resort. Gorgeous. Magnificent golf. Some nice quaint restaurants. Interesting area. I liked it but I would not say it was my favorite place in Florida and I am not sure why I did not love it. But I definitely enjoyed it and it is lovely.

We also have stayed at the Amelia Island Plantation Resort several times
Gorgeous Spanish moss everywhere
room 309 is our fave; faces golf and ocean ( oceanFRONT)
We leave sliding dr w screen opened at night and sleep w the ocean waves' sound .... We love that IN other resorts you hear kids, music, waverunners, but not here!
but i think this resort is closed for renovations till this spring
the nite life is non existant, though
staff very attentive
Not cheap, not super exciting ( no nite life) , but peaceful and beautiful and great staff

We also stayed at the Plantation Resort. We had a nice time. We loved the tranquility of the sunrises on the beach. We loved the drive through the state park. We also liked the Ponte Vedra area and stayed at the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club. We stayed in Amelia in 2005 and Ponte Vedra in 2008 so my information is a bit dated.

My son-in-law proposed to our daughter there. She said it was the most beautiful, romantic and serene beach in Florida (and we've been to several). Once we finally move to TV, we're planning to make a trip there and spend a couple days. Hope you have a wonderful time.
