Everyone knows of Yogisms ... those delightful quotes attributed to Yogi Berra. Well, Ed had a few of his own and here are only a few of them:
"There was always a love-hate relationship with New York in the rest of the country, but I made them feel more love than hate."
.
"I know that nothing happens here on this Earth that wasn't ordained by God. I know that. You know that. And therefore, while I know that it was the people who elected me, it was God who selected me."
.
"If you agree with me on 9 out of 12 issues, vote for me. If you agree with me on 12 out of 12 issues, see a psychiatrist."
.
RIP, Ed, you always asked how your were doing and you did great!

I always liked him for being humorous and friendly with people having opposing views.

He also said:

“I'm not the type to get ulcers,” he once bragged. “I give them.”

“I leave with joy,” he said — though when a constituent later urged him to run again, he said, “The people have spoken ... and they must be punished.”

I once met Bess Myerson, a former Miss America, campaigning for Ed Koch at a very small outdoor gathering, during his first run for mayor. I asked her what Koch could do that those before him had not been able to do. Her response: "You can count on him to work his a** off!" And so he did. RIP, Ed Koch....
