Just read in the paper today that Five Guys and Gators dockside are going into Brownwood..Nothing against our already established restaurants like Gators, City Fire, etc..but...Was anyone else hoping we would get some variety???

The fact that no one here (TOTV) "scooped" today's news about Gator's Dockside and Five Guys coming to Brownwood, certainly suggests that this info is held very close to the vest. Otherwise it would have certainly leaked out somehow before TV's official announcement. Just another reason to downplay the wonderful rumors that sometime fly here on TOTV.

I hope for variety, too, but time-tested businesses in this particular (and unusual) market lend stability to the new town center. (Better than having mostly new bars-restaurants that quickly go belly up because the food is bad and overpriced.)

Plus all the new residents south of 466-A really need more places to open in Brownwood, soon!

I agree

I also wish though ( wishful thinking on my part) that a Cuban restaurant would open in TV
Food is delicios and forbthe most part, not expensive....

Five Guys was noted by Bogie Shooter back in early December. See post #12:

Brownwood is no where near to being finished yet. We were here when LSL was just a sand pit - it has taken a good four to five years to get it to what it is today. The stores stood empty for months. Restaurants would open and close. New businesses would open and close. Now it is a great town square, you have a mixture of businesses, banks, travel agents and stores - kinda something for everyone and just a pleasure to visit.

Personally, I think that Panera's is the anchor at LSL. It is always full of people enjoying life. Nothing is as good as a "coffee shop" for getting people out and about and until you have something like that in Brownwood I think it will be a little slow.

But, as usual, just my own opinion.

Codys will also be there, Not on the square. They will be at 44 where you turn in to go to the square.
