Did not like it. A lot of movement, lot of hair tossing & I guess they call it singing.

Worst Super Bowl half time show I can remember. What's a shame is that I think that Beyonce has a lot of talent. She can be a very good singer and doesn't have to sell sex in order to be successful.

True, but unfortunately when she throws the sex in she probably triples her
income. Thought it was a fantastic performance if you like that sort of thing.
Certainly better than Madonna last year.

Didn't watch it as I read a book to pass the time.
Not much into today's singers even some have a great amount of talent.
Give me a saloon type singer any day. JMHO

During halftime I made Maryland crab balls for my quests and what I saw of the halftime entertainment, I did not like. Maybe the lights should have gone out during halftime. :024:

I was disappointed also, think Beyonce could have done less shaking and hair swaying...I did like when the two other (Destiny Child) ladies came out...Could hardly hear their voices

I thought the halftime show was mighty good. Just because we are not "urban youths", we can still enjoy the music. Having all 3 members of Destiny's Child was enjoyable.
Just remember that it is not the demographics of our age group that is being played to. We may enjoy the music of Frank Sinatra and Doris Day but music like that ain't gonna happen at billion dollar events like the Super Bowl.

Just like the past elections...times are a changing....just talk to your grandkids. If you ignore the change you may be left behind.
Compared to other 1/2 time SuperBowl shows in the past, this was tame!

Between her skimpy outfit and her gyrations, I thought it was disgusting. She can sing and dance so why does she have to act like a two-bit pole dancer. There were so many young children exposed to that performance and it just wasn't necessary nor was it entertaining.

I didn't grow up on Sinatra or even doo whop. I guess since I'm 62 my memories begin with the Beatles and every rock band that came along after. I know they are trying to distance themselves from acts like Paul McCartney, The Who and the Rolling Stones. My favorite banda right now are The Kings of Leon, Muse, and The Foo Fighters. I would of enjoyed them much more, but they have to cater to all demographics at one time or another, and I'm sure most of you probably haven't heard of those three bands.

We sound like our parents and their parents before them. I am sure our children will also complain about heir children's music also.

I'b be willing to bet that your granddaughters (especially if they are teenagers) wear less to any public pool or beach.
And Beyonce's dancing & moves were no more suggestive than Elvis Presley's on the Ed Sullivan show......more than FIFTY years ago.
I'm not a Beyonce fan by any means. I'm stuck on 60s & 70s classic rock, and always will be.......but like her or not you can't deny she has lots of talent.
Just lighten up a little, people. This world would be a boring place if we all liked the same thing.

Regardless of the content , The show is way too long. I was interested in football . If I wanted to see 1/2 hour of a MTV type musical , I would have gone there.
Now for the National Anthem. Why do we need the likes of Steven Tyler, Roseanne, or even someone as talented as Alicia torturing our anthem to showcase their personal ego. MHO :rant-rave:

I thought it was a magnificent performance. The Superbowl half time is all about the entertainment, glitz, glamor, allure, sexiness, music, and capturing your attention. Seems to me a lot of people who did not like it watched it intensely enough to decide it was not appropriate. This was not the Lawrence Welk show. Big bucks in the Superbowl equals big performers and provacativeness on the stage, which in turn keeps you glued to your seat to watch the multi multi million dollar commercials. I thought the purpose of the Superbowl was sexy peformers and car ads with a few touchdowns to keep the betting pools alive, and once again, it served its purpose. The Superbowl and Corporate America are a marriage made in heaven...oh oh, is that a legal union? Wrong thread....

The best rendition of God Bless America (The real National Anthem) I ever heard was Smokey Robinson during one of the World Series games years ago. Could have been when Detroit was in the WS.

Give us Paul, Bruce or Mick and the Stones. Don't need bouncy boobs or wardrobe malfunctions to be entertained.

I enjoyed it. Like the theme of women empowerment. Don't really see the pole dancer analogy.

Get ready for Bon Jovi in the next Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. You won't ahve to worry about skimpy outfits because it will be cold.
Whitney Houston rendition of the Star Spangled banner was the best I ever heard at Super Bowl XLV, (not good at roman numerals, 45?)

The bigger the spectacle = the less that music matters = classic sleight of hand. My criticism is not because of style of music (though I am not a big fan of modern pop)...I am pretty tolerant of most well delivered music despite style issues. Still - Beyonce should go back to lip singing. This wasn't a music set...it was a circus parade masquerading as a song - Liberace pretending to be Beethoven - Kincaid thinking he is Picasso

Would be cool if the Jets played the Giants in the 48th Super Bowl. Highly unlikely I know.

One of the worst halftime shows had to be in 2011 at Cowboys Stadium. They had The Black Eyed Peas, Usher, Slash, Dallas/Ft. Worth-area area high school drill teams and dancers. Give me a break it was a total joke.
The NFL should have just brought out a couple flat bed semi's for the electronics and have Billy, Dusty and Frank aka ZZ Top do their thing. Now that would have been better than anything the NFL has put out in recent years.

Yes, very cool but it's not going to happen. I don't the Jets will have their act together enough to get to the Super Bowl. Heck, I'm not even sure about the Giants but they have a better shot to get there and I am a Giants fan!!!
I saw the article in the New York papers yesterday. I might watch the half time show next year if he is in it.

Same old moves and booty bouncing! Were there words to any of those songs? Could not hear nor understand them! And, I don't know about ya'll but I am tired of so called entertainers butchering the National Anthem! Sing it the way it was written or don't attempt to sing it at all!!!:rant-rave:

I agree with changing the National Anthem just another way to ruin the United States say what you will but some things should not change and that is one of them

Football is a testosterone driven sport. Each team has its own team of gyrating skimpily dressed cheerleaders. It is sponsored by beer and fast car commercials. How anyone can think that this half time show was not consistent with the very nature of the NFL is beyond me. The song choices were Beyonce's and Destiny Child's greatest hits. That maybe neither you nor I know this music does not diminish its value nor the delight millions of viewers received from hearing it and seeing it. One certainly cannot make out the words of many Stones' songs, or how about Enya?

The show was good, much better then the GoDaddy ad, as a EE I hated thed sterotyped computer nerd. At least Beyonce waited to get married before she became pregnant.
Everyone likes different music. When not listening to the news on XM, I like 60's on 6, my wife likes the Blend.

The real question is will he simulate having sex by thrusting his hips back and forth. I'm amazed that that is even allowed on television. It really belongs in a cheap strip club.
Tasteless and classless. To me it's says that Beyonce doesn't have a lot of confidence in her singing ability.

Remember that the demographic group to which the show is aimed is the 18 to 34 year old male. For us, that was a heck of long time ago (except for me, of course).
