Anyone have knowledge of the reputation of the Independent Living section of Freedom Point? Interested in good and bad opinions to get a feel for whether the substantial investment required is worth it.

I'm not hearing good things from residents at Freedom Point these days. What started out as a great upscale place with excellent food and employees is devolving to an ordinary facility of it's kind with marginal food, yet still charges upscale prices. While the core staff are still excellent, the ancillary workers are sometimes unfriendly and indifferent. I've heard people are moving out. Is this true or just rumor?
Maybe the best way would be to go to the facility yourself and do some investigating.

Freedom Point has multiple care facilities: Independent Living and the Rehab or Skilled Nursing Facility, which are located in separate buildings and I would expect have separate corporations and management.
My mother has been in the rehab\SNF building for close to two weeks, and we've visited her there every day. We have been very happy with her care (physical therapy), and have no complaints. My mother at 92 is not easy to please and appears to enjoy most of her meals. The staff has been friendly and responsive.

I agree with Bogie Shooter and Irishmen and Buggyone and Graciegirl. :lipsrsealed: Unfounded rumors abound in The Villages and are often untrue or exaggerated.
