Has anyone used Custom Windows and exterior design? I am looking for a reputable service to enclose my Lanai.

you will not find better people to deal with. Just had our lanai enclosed in January with Cabana sliding windows and couldn't be happier with everything.

They just completed our installation of sliding windows. Everyone from our salesperson (Mary) to the installers did a great job. We are extremely satisfied with the service. They also handled the HOA approval and the county permit. PM me if you would like to come and see our lanai. We live in Charlotte.

Yes,I was NOT happy with the way they handle problems that occue after final payment.
I contracted for low e glass,but the door was NOT low-e. dispute not resolves to my satifaction.
Make you have every checked out before final payment!

What ever you do or whoever you use, make sure you get all the information they TELL you, put in WRITING. Tell them you are getting several quotes and ask them to give you there best quote. All in writing, with what they are doing and material supplied, If they used subs.

We used Martin to enclose our lanai when we had a patio villa, and it was awesome. We miss the long windows now that we are in a different home.

Yes. We used this company last winter to enclose our lanai. Quality work and good follow up with a minor issue.

I went to Custom windows showroom to see if they had the type of product I wanted. We were not enclosing a lanai, but wanted to remove an eight foot livingroom window and replace it with 12 ft. center opening sliding glass doors. They told me in the showroom they didn't do that, but had a contractor contact us to see the project. After receiving a few estimates, we contracted with their contractor (Randa Services). He did a great job. Based upon the service we received from Randy Davison I would imagine Custom Windows does an equally good job. If you need a good contractor contact him.

Custom Windows now offers a darker heavier screen for reducing heat/sun's rays.... instead of the regular screening. Has anyone used this screening ? Does it make the lanai too dark if you use it with tinted windows.

{We've had several friends who have used CustomWindows and were happy with results, but they just got the regular screening.}

Does anyone know the average price of enclosing a Lanai with either plexiglass vs. glass on Lantana? Not sure what to expect??

Full low-e glass sliders on a Lantana...approx 10K.

Less for windows, less for acrylic.

We used Custom Windows and Exteriors and we would definitely NOT recommend them. The customer service we experienced was the worst we have ever had in The Villages or elsewhere. We had order problems, installation problems and definitely attitude problems. There are too many other contractors out there to have to deal with this.

We had Custom Windows and Exterior Design do our lanai in May and it's been great especially with all the recent rains. We also took advantage of the 1 year interest free loan they offer. The lanai was enclosed in 5 hours and they did not tear apart the old lanai until the day the new one was done. Great company to do business with. They come out to measure, 4 weeks to order material, scheduled for day in 5th week and all done same day. Couldn't have been better.
