Has anyone had problems connecting to The Villages webcams? I keep getting a message "Internet Explorer has stopped working". This only happens on the webcams site. Thanks :Screen_of_Death:

Comcast. It started about a week ago, but now I can't connect at all. My Earthcams all work fine, just the villages don't.
I have Comcast and don't seem to be having a problem. This is the site I access.... Spanish Springs Town Square, The Villages (http://www.thevillages.com/lifestyle/cam_ss.asp)

am using comcast and have gone to the sites provided by vg and they are working fine:
Live view - AXIS 213 PTZ Network Camera (http://camera1.thevillages.com/view/view.shtml?imagePath=/mjpg/video.mjpg&size=1)
Live view - AXIS Q6032-E Network Camera (http://camera2.thevillages.com/view/view.shtml?id=10743&imagepath=/mjpg/video.mjpg&size=1)
Live view - AXIS Q6035-E Network Camera (http://camera3.thevillages.com/view/view.shtml?id=281&imagepath=/mjpg/video.mjpg&size=8)
also accessed webcams from thevillages.com and all was well.
had similar problem a while ago and vg suggested i uninstall all of the axis files, then go to each webcam and allow axis to reinstall; did that and all was restored

Not necessarily to the webcams but to the ENTIRE Talk of the Villages website.........all day yesterday.
Sluggish as molasses. The green background format was not visible at all.
Everything was total white and looked like it was in outline form.
Just not working at its usual optimum level.
Today everything is fine and back to normal.
Apparently, Internet Explorer 9 was uploaded to my computer which had the Windows 7 operating system.
Everything is "flying" today.

Microsoft provided about 15 security patches and updates on Tuesday so if your computer is set up for automatic updating that can be the cause. Add to that if you are using a WI-FI connection to your computer that will cause additional delay times while doing the updates.

Let me know if the cams still work with the Explorer 9. From what I am reading, the problem I have may be caused by the Explorer 9. Never had any problems with Explorer 8.

Cams work on IE 8, 9 and 10 with no problems using any of the links or URL's to get to the cams.
Currently using Xfinity (Comcast) DSL via WI-FI here in TV. Running Windows 7 and Windows 8 on my lap top via a dual boot process. By the way I have been using IE 9 since it was in the Beta testing stages.

Downloaded Firefox browser and all the webcam links work great on Firefox. I'll just use Firefox for webcam viewing. The webcams worked fine on Internet Explorer 8, but after the update to IE 9, just would not work. Thanks for all the replies. kevin

Yes, everything you mention is exactly what happened . I do have Wi-FI.
Our telephone company is Fairpoint and this is all bundled with Direct TV Satellite etc. Thankfully, it's all back to normal now..........
No doubt it was the Microsoft updates and security patches........
I now have Internet Explorer 9 which seems to be working well.
Originally my computer was a Windows 7 operating system.

I had a garden variety of problems with Windows Explorer for the past 15 years and a few months ago switched to Google Chrome. Problems all went away and switching favorites, contacts, etc was simple and I'm no computer whiz. Make you life simpler, try it and if you like it then uninstall IE. Just a suggestion.
