My flight leaves in 2 hours and I've just had to unpack my shorts and pack jeans and long sleeves!!!!
I thought I'd escape these frigid conditions in Alabama and enjoy some tropical climate!

Central FL isn't tropical...you'd have to go to Miami for that. The temps we're having right now are typical of February here. Chilly in the a.m.'s with warming later in the day "if" the sun comes out. This weekend will be cold so be prepared BUT it will begin to warm up next week.

This seems like just a cold snap. I haven't gone to my long pants only a few times this year. It would be best to bring some of each both long pants and shorts or capris.

Our first winter was three years ago ('09/10)...now THAT was cold!!! Didn't bring very many cold-weather apparel and ALL of the stores were sold out. It's all about layering here, we've found out, in the winter months. If you're visiting then that's one thing BUT if you're moving here you will need to have some fall/winter type clothing for when these cold-snaps come through. Coming from the midwest and living here almost 4 years...still trying to get a handle on how the weather works here.

When it comes to the weather, there's one thing you can count on: It changes!

I always laugh at the people who walk around in shorts and flip flops when it's 40 degrees out. If they were back north in 40 degrees, they'd have on jeans, sweaters and a heavy coat. Down here, they dress for geography and not the weather!
