We are going on a last minute cruise in a few weeks. Can anyone recommend a reliable car/van company to get us there and back?

I would suggest that you drive to the Tampa cruiseport and park at one of the many parking facilities for cruisers. They are in the $7 to $8 per day range. They offer free shuttle service to the ship and also back to your car after the cruise.
From The Villages to Tampa is about a 90 minute drive.

Thanks Buggy but I would feel more comfortable with a service. This is our first time out Tampa, I don't Want to get lost. We would probably park & cruise next time.
We checked with Village Transportation and they quoted us $360.00, round trip for the two of us...Wow!
Aanyone know of a less expensive service?

Thanks, we contacted Don and unfortunately he weas booked for the day.
Other friends also use him and they are pleased with his services. I know about the option to park and cruise, which we'll probably do, but would really prefer a car or van service. Any other recommendations would be apprreciated.
Thanks,
Gail

You should be able to find a motel that will let you park for free if you stay the night before the cruise. I used one close to the airport but do not remember its name. They also ran a van to the terminal. At any rate you should be able to arrange for transportation from the motel to the terminal and they will drop you off at the correct place.

we have went out of tampa 1 time. stayed at hotel found they can drive you there but can not come back to pick you up. you must take a cab or limo back to hotel after cruise. told that is the port rules. have used blueone transportation to get back to hotel and they were very good. their phone is 813-282-7351.
this time we are renting a car from hertz. if worried about getting lost will pay extra for their gps (neverlost system) have found at other ports you pick up car in villages drive down and return car to hertz who will take you to port and when cruise comes in they will come and pick you up and take you to rental agency to pick up car to come back to villages. this is cheapest way when going on long term cruise.
hope this helps
