My wife, Cathy, and I plan to take our first trip to the Villages for about three short nights near Thanksgiving. It might be too short a stay for the Preview rental, so we're looking at hotels.
Comfort Suites, Hampton Inn, Townplaces Suites, Holiday Inn and the Waterfront all come up in my web searches. Cost not a factor -- we're on vacation! lol
Any idea which is newest? If anyone has a recommendation for one over another, please advise. Thanks! e're excited about it!

I've stayed at the Marriott a few times and always liked it. Plus I like the location in Spanish Springs.

most definitely the Waterfront Inn. It has the best location....reuest a room facing the lake and golf course....absolutely superb.
They offer a discount for residents or family members of residents....so ask for it.
You would be in walking distance of everything at Lake Sumter Landing.
And located about in the middle between the other two town squares (Spanish Springs and Brownwood). Actually LSL is just about the center of TV.

Mom and I have stayed several times at the Comfort Suites. We like having a separate living area and a refrigerator. It is a very nice hotel.

holiday inn express.. was very clean and comfortable..the staff was always attentive..and they serve a great breakfast all inclusive..walk to Spanish springs.and reasonable rates..what else can you ask for.
We stayed at the Waterfront on one of our visits. It helped to make our decision to move here. The location is perfect. The lively bar and evening entertainment is a nice extra.

We decided to split up our accommodations, in order to get a flavor of more than one area of TV. The majority of the days we spent in the Waterfront Inn. It was nice, clean, and convenient for walking around and spending time in Lake Summter Landing. The last day or two we stayed at The Townplace Suites Marriott. This was spacious, clean, had helpful friendly staff, and close to Spanish Springs.
Soon, we'll be staying at the Microtel for a short stay and for economical reasons. That's pretty much set in stone. I'm closing my ears to opinions about that one, for now!
Enjoy your vacation!

I'm not positive about this, but I was told that if you call the sales office they will make a deal for the Patio Villas that they use for lifestyle visit for $100 per night.
Other than that, I would say that you want to get a hotel in the area that you intend to buy or if you are visiting someone close to them.
And yes, if you are not visiting anyone in particular and don't know where you are going to buy, then LSL is central. Waterfront is the best hotel there.

We stayed at The Waterfront Inn when we came up to close on our house here. You can't beat the location.

I've stayed at all of the mentioned hotels and I liked them all for different reasons. I don't think you can go wrong with any choice. Enjoy your stay. Oh, the only problem with the Waterfront is the parking. If your car is not parked by 4:00 PM in the parking lot you will, have a very difficult time parking. The reason is the square fills up rapidly and the restaurants get busy so parking is at a premium. If you have a difficult time walking a distance, then I would choose a different hotel other than the Waterfront.

We planned on staying at a hotel but at the last minute I sent a MSG to a few friends....ended up that someone they knew had a villa available with a golf cart....$75 a night. Perhaps make the reservation at the hotel but the few weeks before post something on here....perhaps you will find someone with last minute availability.
