What is the difference between a Village ready cart and a regular golf cart ? Has anyone bought a golf cart from a dealer, not located in the villages?

A Village ready golf cart has a horn, signal lights, head and tail lights and meets minimum requirements to drive in The Villages streets. A regular golf cart has none of those, just a cart like you'd rent at a golf course. I have owned a number of carts and have bought none of them from a dealer in The Villages.

In addition to above, Village ready golf cart has several flags, cooler, rack for clubs, urinal full of sand, names in front such as Bubba and Me, large dog in passenger seat and foam dice hanging from above the dash.

Thanks Grace, I couldn't remember where I'd seen that bottle before!

Also some Village carts have high speed gears and 10 inch wheels and tires, sunbrella enclosures and tinted fold down windshields.

Prices are generally cheaper outside The Villages. You do pay for the inconvenience though. I would definitely shop around.

Nothing like that ride to the golf course in the mornin, with a cup of coffee in hand, and listening to the radio, and waving to everyone along the way!!!! (Where else is life like that?) I bought cart off The Villages also. Any maintenance, they come to your house and do it there, or take it away for the day, then bring it back, all ready to go!!!:ho::gc:

I bought a cart outside TV and saved over $4,000. Yes folks 4K! The cart dealers in TV think they have a captive audience and in my opinion try to stick it to you. They have called the manufacturer and complained about the company I purchased from and demanded that this company stop selling in TV or else. Now I know as a retired business owner that everyone needs to make a profit. The company that sells for 4K less is making a profit so you do the math on this one as to how much profit these cart dealers are demanding. I won't tell you who the company is but I suggest you look to purchase 70 miles due East.

70 miles east is new smyrna beach I found nothing in a google search for golf catrs in NS. it so easy to critize others and make statements when you hide behind a nickname and do not provide any facts. i also wonder what profession people that make price gouging accusations. what ever you did I doubt you gave it away and supply and demand guided your pricing, unless you worked for the fedreal government

Hi Gracie, I do live in DeLand and TV. We will be living fill time in TV by summer. Can't wait. As for the cart purchase, I did buy my cart 70 miles east of TV and 25 miles east of DeLand. A friend of mine in Virginia Trace bought his cart about 3 months ago and saved over 4k also by buying where I bought mine. Both my cart and his cart were 4 passenger carts that were loaded with options and accessories. There are GREAT deals if you have patience and spend a little time. As for the gentleman that disputes my claims all I have to say is pay me a fee and I will save you some serious money also. Billyworld. I thought you recently posted you lived in Deland.
