View Full Version : Can you remember that time....
...when you were so absolutely relaxed and comfortable beyond belief.....so comfortable that you were aware of how wonderful the feeling was?
For me, it was a time in 1974.....it was a nice sunny, warm day in northern CA. Mike, son Jim and I were living on base, in military housing. The living room slider was opened, I was stretched out on the sofa taking a break from watching kids, doing work around the house. Soon it was like time just stood still.....it was like I was suspended in space...my body was so very comfortable on the sofa, the breeze was sweet and moved my hair, there was no bodily discomfort, anywhere....and suddenly, I became aware of this overwhelming sensation of peace, relaxation and contentment.
It's been almost 40 years since that afternoon, but it stays in my memory as the most relaxed feeling I've experienced so far in my life. Have you experienced something similar?

I was in TV at an outside bar having a beer and watching the Yankees play the Rays. There was a gentle breeze blowing and I was thinking I was in heaven. I was very relaxed, then the Yankees lost and I was jolted back to reality.
There was another time when several of us rented a camper and were in the mountains. I remember waking up ealy and going outside to see the paroramic view. I felt I was communing with GOD's creation and it was so peaceful. When I really want to relax, just being quiet and enjoying the peace that it brings is wonderful.

We call that a resourceful state and when you are in that place your body is in a position to be working optimally. So if you want to maintain a healthy state of being it is really useful to recall that time, as all the cells in your body will go there and the more you do it, the easier it is to get to that state and maintain that state. It will lead to a healthier way of moving in the world and less things will throw your system off.
When I am feeling off, I can now recall what "healthy" feels like and I check in to get back there through the day when I think of it. It has helped me to move through many challenging situations both physical and emotional.
It constantly amazes me how powerful our mind is and how our body continually is working to keep us healthy in mind body and spirit. Our life is truly an inside job and we are the creators of our reality and the directors of our own lives.

1st visit to an Atlantic Ocean Beach.
Sitting in a lifeguard chair...watching and hearing the waves roll in.....one after the other...hypnotic.

For 52 years my family owned a summer cottage on Wrighter Lake in northeastern PA. It was the only place on this earth where I was ever truly happy.

I have felt that feeling, poetically described by Pooh, of peace, joy and contentment. More often since I've been doing daily meditations. I love the suggestion from Lightworker that recalling the feeling will take us back, and contribute to a heathy emotional state.

Sitting outside on a lounge chair, at a rather dumpy hotel on the beach at Treasure Island, the hotel band was playing at some kinda weird tiki bar, and we were watching the sunset. had a complimentary cocktail in me, and just loving the idea of Florida!!!:MOJE_whot:

At anchor in the sailboat we no longer have.
A power boat for us. At anchor, with the sun setting, on a day that we will spend the night at anchor. No longer have the boat. I need something else to make me relaxed.

You nailed it, buzzy. Nothing like an evening in the cockpit after making dinner on board, bobbing around with a glass of wine. And the gentle rocking as you sleep.
