smoke detectors

I think I read somewhere that TV public safety people will install batteries in smoke detectors too high for us who have difficulties with balance on high ladders. Is this true? With daylight savings time due in a few weeks, it is time to change out batteries.

The fire department will do it for you. You just have to supply the batteries.

They also will set your weather emergency radio properly for you if you bring it into one of their fire stations. Be sure to have the batteries for that, too.

Public safety will change the batteries for you. You provide the ladder and batteries.
