My 36v EZ-GO motor seems to be running hot and smelling of oil, and there is sometimes a strange noise from below the seat when travelling at speed
I had part of the transmission replaced recently as it was leaking oil into the motor.
Could this be the problem, and it is just burning the oil off, or does it sound like a new motor is needed?
Current one is ten years old
If so, what would it cost, and who should I use to put one in?
Thank you

Sorry, I have no idea the best place to start on that one. If you do not have luck on TOTV, you may get some bytes (yeah I did ) on:
Buggies Gone Wild Golf Cart Forum (http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/) (high traffic)
or
Buggies Unlimited Golf Cart Forum • Index page (http://server1.buggiesunlimited.com/phpBB2/) (less traffic, but very good).
or
Frank7 is here. I do not know if he answers questions in the public forum, but he does in ask the expert forum....
Good luck....

Chances are good you dont need a new motor. If you had the input shaft seal replaced, the servicing body should have cleaned the motor out, when they had the motor in their hand, as you have to remove the motor to replace the seal. If it is the motor making the noise, the most common noise is a bad motor bearing-Its an easy fix for any capable shop.
