Lowes is my favorite hardware store. Great customer service. They have a list of installers. Lowes also gives a 10% discount - even on sale items - if you are a veteran. Just show them your VA card or copy of your DD214.
I got my carpet there and it beat the pants off of Nickel Tile for the same carpet.

Yes Home Depot and lowes do installation......and warrant the installation work on top of the product warranty.

We're getting a quote from Munn's, but would like another reputable business to quote us too.

We used M&S who does a lot of work in the Villages. Very professional and good to work with. We also got a quote from Munns.

I have posted before that I am so happy with Sumter Air and Heat. The guy was knowledgable and his price was more than fair. We first called Munn's, and they tried some shady sales tactics in my opinion. Sumter Air was much cheaper and didn't try such. We have used them for years now.

You are doing the correct thing - getting multiple estimates. This is a big purchase (probably $5K plus) to get three or four estimates. Just make sure they are licensed HVAC contractors and are a licensed dealer for whatever brand of HVAC you decide to purchase. Look in the yellow pages - lots listed there. Check them out with the BBB and with Seniors Vs Crime. I, personally, have had good luck with both DeSantis and with Sunshine. You might want to consider going with the same brand that is currently in your home and you can check with Village Home Warranty Dept to find out who installed that unit.

I agree with Bryan on the licensure. And, insured. This way if you have any issues, well you know. Our new unit was right around the $4800 mark, then later we added a lanai unit, forget the price on that but WELL WORTH IT, especially in the summertime!

We used DeSantis when we added heat and air to our enclosed lanai. They did a good job.

I had SunKool - new air conditioner and all new components in existing indoor unit - definitely less than $5000. 10 year warranty. I have used SunKool for about 10 years. Very happy with them.

Does anyone have an American Standard unit installed and what do you think of it please?
That is the unit Chuck wants to install but I do not know anyone who has one.

Our old home had an American Standard, and it was fine. However, we have a Carrier I believe now, and it is great. House is always cool. Or warm!

They use licensed contractors to install the products that they sell. They also finance the projects. It is always best to get 3 or 4 bids from contractors. Let them know up front, to give you their best bid as you will be interviewing other contractors. Usually the contractors will give you competitive bid . Than check them out with the BBB before you use anyone.
