My parents purchased a loveseat from Lazy Boy furniture in Ocala 6 months
ago. The Lazy Boy furniture Gallery. The fabric was pilling and not wearing well and the arms, foot rest and back of chair was becoming flat and the fabric was puckering. The store said they would remove the pills from the fabric and try to put more stuffing in the chair. They said they are not responsible for the fabric not wearing well and will only repair the chair once. After a year they are done with any type of responsiblity for the loveseat condition. They said to call the corporate office and talk to them about it. I did call and they basically said the same thing and that it was not their decision but the stores. The manager would never talk to us. Neither the store or the corporate office would help in anyway. I even explained that
I did not have that problem with my loveseat from lazy boy. The corporate said it was my moms choice of fabric and it must be the way my dad was sitting on the chair to make the fabric flat. My dad is only a very small man. My suggestion is do not go to Lazyboy for your furniture. There are too many other furniture stores who might be better helping you if you do have a problem.

Southern Lifestyles in The Villages has beautiful furniture and excellent service after purchase, based on my experience.

Either way the warranty is up after one year and that is mentioned in the booklet you should have received with the original chair.

I had a problem with the lift chair we purchased while living back north and after a bit of an ordeal I did finally get resolution to my problem. I was offered the opportunity to go to the gallery and select a completely new lift chair. I did go and selected a model more expensive and only had to pay the difference between the old chair and the more expensive new chair. Their was frustration with the process, but the greatest frustration was getting things resolved by the time the moving van arrived to move everything to FL. IIRC they made it within roughly one week of the move.

The phone number I was communicating with was 1-888-798-2311. If this is different than the one you were communicating with, try calling this one (if you're willing to go through even more to resolve the problem) and explain everything to them and see what they say. It can't be any worse than what you've been told so far! Good luck!

Had a similair problem with an upholstered sofa I purchased from Lazy Boy. Fabric was wearing poorly within the warranty period and they said "too bad, so sad". Ended up giving the sofa to salvation army and bought something new. They are on my "do not shop" list. Too many reputable people around.

We ordered custom Lazy Boy recliners a few years ago through White's Furniture. Within a few months, one of the chairs developed a hole in the fabric under one arm. We couldn't figure out how it could happen as it was not in a location that should wear. Fortunately, we had purchased the "Montage" insurance policy and after we provided photos of the damage, the insurance company had it fixed promptly.

When we examined the fabric, it was clear that the damage had happened at the Lazy Boy factory, as there was a razor slit on the underside. We called White's Furniture to report what happened, but they weren't really interested.

I'd recommend buying insurance on upholstered goods. Without it, you may have to pay big bucks to get it fixed.

We also bought the insurance and found it wasn't worth the paper it was written on - they said go back to the manufacturer who said go the insurance company who said go back to the manufacture and on and on.

This is a long shot, but possibily find out who the manufacturer of the material on the chair is. I used to buy office furniture and the material on the chair always had a different warranty than the mechanics of the chair. The fabrics come in different grades. Maybe you could find out who their supplier of fabric is and see if they will do anything.

I would be willing to guess that the Lazy Boy store in Ocala is independently owned and not owned by the Corporate Office. Therefore, it is up to the individual store. We had something like that happen to us with Ethan Allen years ago and the corporate office couldn't help us because it was independently owned. However, the old story, what goes around, comes around.....he was out of business a year later.
