Just curious - if you are a PCP member, do you receive an explanation of benefits when you receive service from your doctor?

Yes, PCP explained everything very well. If you call their number they will explain anything to you, also you can go to their office In Lake Sumter, the people who work there are wonderful.

PLUS there are two different policies to choose from. When you go to ask your questions with the insurance office...be it the PCP office OR the Villages Ins. office, they will explain which one might be the best one for you. My spouse and I each have PCP but our policies are different.

I've had Preferred Care for several years and have yet to receive an EOB for medical services rendered.

One does receive a Monthly Prescription Drug Summary however (mailed). Basically it summarizes where you are in relation to hitting the donut hole.

The reason I asked this question is because I called PCP to inquire if EOBs can be accessed on line. I was advised they are not available and they are only mailed out if a claim is denied. Well my question is, how do they verify what is being billed has actually been done and not fraud if the patient doesn't see the charges? And we wonder why fraud is running rampant. I can't believe this is accurate information and will try and check into this further.
