Tried Havanna Country Club for the first time in a long time, due to bad experiences and comments on TOTV. Lately there was a good review on TOTV so we thought we would give it another try. Service was great, food arrived in a very timely fashion and we all enjoyed our meals. Maybe Havanna has finally taken a turn for the better.

Agree. We stumble in there about every 3 or 4 months. It is so disappointing every time up till now. It is time to try it again. :icon_hungry:

Three of us had dinner at Havana tonight, and it was great! We were welcomed even though it was late when we got there. Our waitress, Hope, was lovely...patient, efficient, and friendly. Our food was very good! One of us had fish and said it was the best he'd had in a long time. Don't give up on Havana!

My first meal at Havana was not so good.
But my second, about a week ago, was much improved.
Will probably give it another try.

am so leery of giving havana another try; every time our experience has been a disappointment. is there a new owner/management/chef/menu? would like to have a 'give us another try' coupon available...just in case.

New chef who has basically thrown out the old menu and started anew. Management is till the same but that lease agreement is up later this year, so stay tuned in regards to that lease.

Two months ago I spoke with an individual who was in serious negotiations to buy Havana. The deal fell through but he told me the current owner has six years left on the lease with another five years option. He told me they were still on COD but Cris' father in law nixed the sale. Apparently he's the money man.

So you're saying they had an 11 year lease???? I believe they've been open since the winter of 2008. I hope not, we've been hoping for a new owner for a long time. Its so sad, such a beautiful country club so poorly run.
So you're saying Kris' FIL is the real owner?? They are so far in debt, not sure how he will pull himself out of it now. They are also losing good entertainment because he won't pay them after they play. Not very nice.

Who the heck is Kris and what is COD??? My rumor mill said the potential new owner said the place was in too much disrepair to be a success.

Kris Brown is the owner and COD is CASH ON DELIVERY, which most of his vendors have him on. "Disrepair" physically or their reputation is so bad it can never be turned around?

So many people have tried to talk to him. He's had more new people then a kindergarten class has had students. Every time a new Chef comes the menu gets changed then something goes wrong and the cook goes. Haven't eaten there in quite some time. I gave up. To many other places. He had a chance to get out and blew it.
