VHA discount - Sam's Club join or renew

If you are a Villages Homeowner Association (VHA) member, they have a coupon on their site for discounts on new or renewal membership to Sam's Club. Coupon expires 4/30/13. My membership expires in April, so, timing was right and I took advantage of this to get a $10 gift card.

What is the Village Homeowner's Association? Mom and I own a home in The Villages but we do not live here – yet! We are in TV now so we have our resident IDs. Is that the same thing as the Villages Homeowner's Association?
