The last few days I've noticed 2 or 3 military helicopters flying west to east over the Villages. This is all hours, even in the middle of the night.

Anyone know why and where they're coming from?

Most likely they are doing some sort of standard training.

I have seen them a couple of times. They are Sikorsky Black Hawk helicopters which are part of a military special ops training exercise. There is a story about them in the Ocala Star Banner.

We saw them as well...middle of the afternoon...on Monday! Heard on the news that "sources" (military) said they weren't doing any operations. My take on it is...military wouldn't tell us what 'exactly' they're doing!!

but they (military) do let us know when they are going to do military execises....via the newspaper.

Much of the "other" flying is just pilots getting in their required hours per month in the air. And sometimes they extend their trip just to break the boredom.

And there may be an occassional mission being run.

These are UN helicopters deceptively colored to look like US helicopters. Part of the grand plan. Remove tin foil hat now.
