I find it rather bizarre that frequently when a post goes on for a while someone will arbitrarily decide "it's time to close this thread". Why would someone feel they can determine for everyone else the conversation should end? Why don't you just stop visiting if you think it's been talked to death and give those still interested the opportunity to stay engaged - unless of course you are admin who has the power. chilout

I agree. That kind of bothers me when it happens. Maybe if it is the original poster who thinks his or her question has been answered. There are usually more things to say, however, unless it is cut-and-dried.

I also agree with you. I think it should be left up to the orginal poster or the administration.

Although I have been guilty once of saying a thread should be closed, I think a thread runs it's own course after it has been beaten to death or the admin steps in when people attack other people or strays off it original course

Sometimes a frustrated poster says they think the thread should be closed because THEY think if they post again they will "say" something that will result in the thread being closed by administration.

I said that recently after someone had made a nasty post & the Administrator removed it.
