Seeking advice and opinion on Senior Soccer offered at The Villages. Noticed in Thursday's Recreation News that its offered Friday mornings at 8:30 am at the Polo Grounds.

I assume you show up and an informal game is played for a couple of hours......cones delineate field and goal area?......no leagues or teams involved? Skill level is not a primary factor?

Is it played each and every Friday? Cleats and shin pads are required?

Are there scheduled events in The Villages to view Barclay League or European Champions Leagues or World Cup qualifying matches if televised?

Any and all input is appreciated.....thanks in advance.

They play every Friday 8:30 am at the Polo fields. Just show up. Shin pads are optional. There's no sliding tackles. Usually 6 or 7 a side for three 20 minute periods.
Great bunch of lads. No skill level required.
I'm a part time resident but I play every Friday I'm in town.
Watch out for that wiley Warren from Brockton, Mass. though!

Will be at The Villages at end of May for a couple of weeks and was wondering if Senior Soccer is still going strong?.............especially if " snowbirds" have returned north and summer heat..........just curious and looking for feedback.

Thanks in advance for any comments and input.
