Ladies A friend of my cousin who lives in the villages went to have her nails done at a salon (I dont' know this one??) on the other side near Spanish springs (supposedly used to be a ice cream place called Brewsters??) and she paid by check the 35.00 or 40.00 and they forged the check and made it out for $2,000.

heads up on this salon if anyone frequents it!!

Were they arrested? Was it in the newspaper? Is the salon now closed?

The nail salon in the former Brewster's isn't on the historic side, it is in the plaza in front of the new VA Clinic in the Mulberry Rec center area.

The one that used to be Brewster's is on 42 by the Publix and Shell gas station near the Mulberry Rec center. Can't think of the name. I'd be curious to hear more about this incident.

Are you absolutely sure it isn't a rumor? It would take a pretty dumb person to think they could get away with such an obvious thing like that. Especially one that had a bricks and mortar address. Surely no one would be THAT stupid?

:loco:Gracie, unfortunately some people are that stupid. My brother used his ATM card to buy gas at a station near his house. The guy waiting on him took down the information from the card then used it to pay HIS cell phone bill. As they say, you can't fix stupid!

PLEASE verify this information. This is a very serious charge and we need to know the details and the name of the salon. If this had been posted by someone "new", I would have disregarded it, but since you are a regular....PLEASE post the details.

Even on a forum, such as this, should these allegations prove to be false, there could like be some serious legal ramifications for passing along such nonsense.

Flaming a business based upon 2nd or 3rd hand information is probably not a wise thing to do.

If it's true, and the police are doing an investigation, I do not think anyone will "name" the alledged offender for fear of being sued.

No this is absolutely NOT a rumor. It was the former Brewsters so in front of Mulberry would sound right as this woman lives out in Springdale. I will try to get more details but just wanted to alert the LADIES. Definitely NOT a rumor though.

Just as bad as getting a pedicure from Signature Nails, getting an infection and fighting it for 1 1/2 years. Of course they would not accept responsibility. I have talked to several other neighbors who have had bad experiences with them also.

I know my cousin well (obviously) and her best friend over in Springdale and know for a FACT this woman would NEVER make up such a story. No reason to at all. It is factual and when I have further info I will pass it along but just wanted to give the woman a heads up.

If they altered a check..the law will descend on them and there will not be a business, I would guess.
