how to use webcam on laptop?

tech challenged but would like simple directions on how to use webcam to contact friends back home. any help appreciated

Sign up for Skype, very easy to download and user friendly - Free Skype internet calls and cheap calls to phones online - Skype (http://www.skype.com)

You will need a sign in name and once you have Skype activated and get your friends and familys sign in names, you'll be able to contact them. I think you can also get in touch thru Facebook.

I skype with my granddaughter every week and it's a fabulous way to keep in touch. You'll love it.
