My wife is beginning a position as a social worker and is in need of a list of agencies who provide services for those in need. ie Meals on Wheels, food pantries, medical services, support groups, etc. As a starting point and not wanting to duplicate any documents which may already be available, would anyone is aware of such information let us know.
We are aware of the list printed regularly in the newspaper.
Thank you

Wouldn't the agency or organization or government entity for whom she works have such a list?

Thanks for your response. She does have a very limited hand out which is lacking many new agencies and some which are obsolete. She is currently calling agencies to see what is available, ie United Way, etc.

Anyone who works with the elderly or sick have any printed documentation of agencies names and phone numbers. If not we plan to compile the information for all to use.

......DIAL 211 .........from any phone....NATIONWIDE...(almost)..
...............This number is for ANYONE in NEED for ANY REASON.
(Yes, you can call it to inquire about your question, also)
If at first you get someone with an attitude .....
.................simply hang up and re-dial....
...95% will guide you in a calm, non-judgemental manner.
They have info for food, shelter, medications....the whole gamut.
Note also..... IN FLORIDA.....
...if one need mental health meds...simply dial 911...
...Florida LAW requires law enforcement agency to give you a ride
to the nearest ( in their jurisdiction ) emergency room...
....that emergency room will provide the needed meds.
For those who have a NEED to point out spelling errors.....
.....improper use of commas, etc.....211 will not help you...
you need a different type of help.
