The book The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves, and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History mentions the 224 ft long 1.5 ft high Bayeux Tapestry which describes the events leading up the Norman invasion of 1066 of Anglo-Saxon England by William the Conqueror. Hitler hunted for the treasure but failed to nab it. Britain's Bayeux Tapestry (http://www.bayeuxtapestry.org.uk/)
