Just want people to know that Centurylink is soliciting door to door in The Villages. They promise lower monthly bills for similar levels if service to Comcast. They don't deliver on this. They are offering all kinds of rewards like prepaid credit cards, one-time rebates, etc. however, in The Villages their reception is very unreliable, requiring frequent service calls, which of course interrupt your Villager schedule. Just wanted to let people know.

We had a CenturyLink Rep come to our house and decided to switch to them over Comcast. Then I did some research and the savings were not that much and after all the "deals" expire in 12 months, they would be slightly more.

Then I did some additional research on TOTV and saw all the complaints of the TV reception freezing, the many calls to the service department, that we called them and cancelled before the install date.

Best decision we have made. In the three years that we had COMCAST, we had one issue and Comcast handled the problem quickly and efficiently.

Thanks TOTV!! There is a wealth of great information here to make life in The Villages just that more pleasant :)

We tried Century Link for a while.. Big mistake. Slowest internet ever. Changed back to Comcast and love it.

We have had them for a few weeks now and are happy about the 2 year price and the service and what direct tv can offer vs comcast. Hope all stays well.

Is there any over-the-air TV reception in The Villages area?? I have seen some homes outside of TV and the other 55+ communities with TV antennas up. Is there anything to receive?
