I'm looking for a recommendation ....I need to get 4 new tires for my 2008 Nissan and have it checked out before I travel with it "up north". I don't trust the Tire Choice dealer at Colony and I don't have a local mechanic yet. Looking for someone honest knowledgable and reasonable...Help! Thanks for any info.

I'd get tires at Sam's Club. If your 2008 Nissan is low mileage and doesn't need an oil change it will probably be fine for a trip up north. If it needs an oil change (every 5K miles) I would get it at BF Goodrich next to Sam's Club and also ask for cursory vehicle inspection that may be $25 of so.

Sumter Tire and Auto in Wildwood. These folks are honest and good. They do it all.
They're on Main St. (RT. 301) in Wildwood. Take Rt. 466A to Rt. 301 and make a right. Sumter Tire is a short distance on the right.

Hanson's in Leesburg. They are at the intersection where Hwy. 441 and Hwy. 27 split. Great service and even better prices. I had all 4 tires replaced on my Buick Rendevous and no one came close to their prices for the same tires.

We bought 4 tires from Pep Boys in Leesburg about a year ago and it was buy 3 get one free. Not sure if they still have that special. We had priced tires at the dealership and it was $750 and ended up paying $400 or so at Pep Boys.

Just wondering. I need brake work while I am here and wonder why Tire Choice is a bad "choice". Anyone have bad experiences there? Thanks.

Thanks for the great info...now I need help to fix the small light in the front drivers side (I think it's called parking lights) ...the light is smashed - don't ask! I'm afraid I could get a ticket for not having it on for the trip but I'm sure a Nissan dealer will charge so much...any help?

Never had a problem with them.Very helpful. One time flat tire on golf cart, brought in the tire and said wife was at the cart, stopped everything and I was out the door,no charge.

Least expensive place to get the replacement lens/light would be a junk yard /auto recycler if they have a similar car. There are several near TV. I believe the nearest is in Wildwood:
Dominion Metal Recycling Center
4316 County Road 124
Wildwood, FL 34785
(352) 689-0058
You can find others by using Google or the Yellow Pages

They always try to UPSELL the customer! I guess that's how they make $$$$ with dummies like me, BUT fool me once & NEVER AGAIN!

There seems to be a difference between the Tire Choice at Colony and the one off 466 near Walmart. I used the one near Walmart several times without a problem. One time I took a car there because the check engine light came on. They had it for a while, then told me the gas cap had come slightly loose, causing the light to come on. They charged me a small amount for the diagnostic, and that was it. They could have told me anything and charged a bundle for the work and I wouldn't have been able to challenge them. Light was off and stayed off.
The complaints about Tire Choice I have read recently appear to be about the one at Colony. Is that the case, or has the one off 466 gone to the dark side?
