Anyone know where you can buy rye flour for bread making? Already tried Publix, Sweetbay & Fresh Market.

Thanks

I have seen rye flour around but can't recall where. MY recent search was for Rye Meal. I had no problem finding it years ago but it has become almost impossible now to locate. An online search took me to a store in Oregon, Butte creek Mill. I decided to order some, hoping it would be the same as what I bought many years ago. It is! I make a recipe that came from my Danish ancestors. It is a dense bread that doesn't rise much but it is so good.

Glad you found the rye flour at Walmart. I have been looking for rye grain that I have a wonderful recipe for, but just can't find it anywhere.

We order wheat and rye berries from a western state and mill our own for healthy breads.
Fresh market may have a small container of berries or rye flour. Sometimes Publix will have it on their green shelf in the flour isle.

I too order all my special flour and special baking supplies from KingArthur.com which is located in VT. They have a lot of really good high quality baking supplies I can't find locally in the supermarkets.
