just curious what people think who own block/stucco home? It seems the colors are so limited to basic beige. Saw a beautiful gray one with white trim however the bugs were all over it. do you think the white trim on the home would attract the bugs? anyone with experience know? Do you find alot of choice when choosing a color for home?

I don't think the color has anything to do with bugs.
Thankfully there is NOT a lot of choices that you are given. The choices that we have makes this place look lovely and not gaudy, like some parts of Florida that have intense tropical colors.
I am so pleased with how this place looks.
Now I am going to hide, because someone is gonna disagree BIG time.
My house is a grayish green with darker green trim. I haven't noticed an abundance of the creatures hanging around. I've seen stucco houses painted yellow, some almost a mustard color, darker brown, a sort of teal and of course, some tan ones.

My house is painted Sherwin Williams Intellectual Gray with Shoji white trim & a Terra Cotta front door.
Most tastefull colors will be approved by the board for the exterior of
your home.
I hope this helps. Chris & Len

I think the bugs you might be seeing are in the new sections and they are called blind mosquitoes. They don't bite, they come out after it rains during warm weather, and they are a nuisance but that is all. You will find them around the homes with water or preserve views. Once things settle down in the new areas, they will calm down, but will never go away completely.
Apparently according to FSU, they are indeed attracted to the lighter colored houses. However, I personally have found them to be Equal Opportunity Critters and honestly, I think they are more attracted to streetlights and outdoor house lights so I keep my outdoor lights off.
My pest control company has done a great job of keeping the bugs at bay. And of course a nice steady breeze keeps them away completely. So get the color of home you like. It will all settle down eventually.

Our new spec house is BEIGE with a yellow door.
First thing I'm going to do is paint the door "Dublin" blue
(After I get approval).
I don't like the loud tropical colors either.
The bugs could be attracted to the smell of new paint.
When we repainted our house here in Tampa the love bugs
We're all over that year and the next year they were not.

yes it was new home painted where we saw the bugs. could be the new paint or smell of it although I will say our White car definitely attracts bugs here. wish we bought another color.

Just FYI, there is absolutely no regulation of the color of your home. You may paint the exterior any color you want, including gator green and flamingo pink.

we have a lovely yellow/tan stucco with a slightly lighter yellow banding.
The bugs love stucco, I don't care what color it is. I haven't really found a good way to clean the fly droppings off.........anyone else?
