Our 7 yr old GE builders refrig. has been giving us trouble for a few years now. Yesterday it crapped out completely. Did I get a lemon or is common?? Rrrrrr

Our 8 yr. old GE leaks water out from the bottom of the freezer. There's a little square hole back there on the left side in the back. I want to read the paperwork on it, or call an appliance guy.

I think the appliances of today are made to be disposable. Sure they are more energy efficient but you need to buy three news ones to one old one...grrr!!!

I bought a new GE washer and dryer 5 years ago. The washer broke after the first year...I gave it away and the dryer hasn't worked right since day one. The timer numbers are incorrect and I have a bolt and bracket to hold the door closed otherwise the door pops open while clothes are drying.

I will never buy another GE.

Maybe you did get a lemon. The builders' models of appliances are not noted for longevity. However, all of my original GE appliances are still going strong after 12 years.

A lot of appliances are disposable but at $1000.00 a pop I would hope for 10 trouble free years. I have been using MD appliance service, seem to be ok.
