Greetings and Salutations. We are Lars and Carole and have just purchased a home in the village of Santiago. We are moving on " a leap of faith" that this will be a good move for us. We are in our "stagnant" seventies and desire to join the active world of the "social" seniors. Our health is fair and our ambitions are great. It's time to start living again. Where should we start our revival ?

Good for you, and welcome! Are you familiar with the Recreation News? It comes out every Thursday and lists everything there is to do in The Villages. Get a copy, and just start picking out what interests you, and you'll be so busy, in no time, that you won't know what hit you!
You can get the Rec News at any rec center and it will be in the newspaper, The Daily Sun, tomorrow, and every Thurs.
Enjoy!!

A good place to start would be the TOTV get together at Crispers on Friday at 3PM...See you there.

Welcome Lars and Carole and welcome to Santiago (it's the best village, of course, but don't tell anyone I said that)
Here's a link to all the clubs in The Villages. I'm sure you will find a few that you are interested in.

Some good suggestion here already, but one thing we would do....
Put some comfy shoes on and go for a walk around your new neighborhood and say hello and introduce yourself to anyone that looks at you. Pretty soon you will have some new friends and they may have lots of stuff going on ....
Welcome to TV.

I would walk around your block once or twice a day to get a little exercise. And if you happen to walk by anyone introduce yourself as a new neighbor. If you have name cards take them with you.

Congrats. Best wishes as you start living the dream.
You have made a wise choice to live an active lifestyle and you will get younger in TV. The rec news on Thursdays is a good start and you are close to SS so, soak up the entertainment.
Good for both of you, to venture out into the wonderful world of TV

Congrats to you! Your new neighbors will soon be at your door introducing themselves and telling you all about TV. There will be block parties and socializing with your neighborhood plus all the other interests you may have. Go to the squares, ask questions, visit the Rec centers, read the newspaper for things going on. in no time, you will have no free time!!! Welcome!!

Welcome to you both! I have a feeling you will not be "stagnant" anymore! If you can make it to Crispers on Friday we would love to meet you!

Welcome to your new home. Take your time and soak everything in for a bit. Maybe the activities you jump into right away won't be the things you end up staying with later on, but it's fun to try them out. You will find what fits your lifestyle. Enjoy!

Congrats on your move to The Villages. You have now left (as you called it) your stagnant seventies. Check out the Rec News in Thursday's paper and they also have copies at the Daily Sun in Spanish Springs. What to do, what to do? We golf, or I should say we own golf clubs, tai chi for balance is good, shows at Savannah Center, Church on The Square, occasional pickle ball, Civil War talks at Lake Miona Rec center first Tuesday of the month at 9AM (get there early for coffee and donut holes). The possibilities are endless here. So once again, congratulations.

Congratulations on your decision. I'm sure you'll enjoy Santiago. The neighborhood pool is a great place to meet people. Hopefully your commmunity has a monthly driveway party. If so, you'll probably find a flyer at your door. Going for walks is a great way to meet neighbors.
