From searching TOTV it looks like Tri County Auto wins out with the most recommendations.

My son got an estimate in Ocala for a number of mechanical issues with his Honda Civic. I think the estimate seems too extensive and expensive.

Anyone have a bad experience with Tri County?

Not looking to trash them, of course.

Sorry, no bad experience here and haven't heard of any from my friends. They could have easily ripped me off for a couple of grand for a clutch replacement (have to remove the engine to replace a Miata clutch) but only charged a couple of hundred for a slave plate. I thought it was the clutch and expected to pay accordingly.

It's refreshing to hear about a positive experience with a contractor. When I get any kind of work done on my house or vehicles, I make a point to mention that I am active on TOTV, thinking they will do me right. Word of mouth is their best advertising.
