As a new owner in TV and a private aircraft owner, I would like to know if there are any airports nearer to TV than Leesburg Village aviators can tell me about?
Thanks!

Wouldn't the FAA have this information?

Yes, they would. I've searched the FAA data base for paved strips, but sometimes there are privately owned grass strips that aren't listed on the FAA sites.

Just East of TV is a private grass strip on one of the first north south roads I think it was towards the south.

Google maps labels it as: Flying Palomino Ranch Airport.

A Google search on it, brings up lots of info.

Thank everyone for the terrific response. I picked up a sectional aviation map and see several grass strips, including those mentioned in this string. 2FA6 looks great. I'll look into it.

Bogie Shooter is referring to an Aipark called Love's Landing (97FL). It's a gated community where residents must have an airplane, and where most hangars are bigger than the living spaces!

I know because my late brother bought there a dozen or so years ago. The people are delightful. No 'plane services for the public, however.

They do host an annual "Fly-in" on the first Saturday of November. Last year, some 125-150 planes came in from all around Florida and enjoyed burgers, dogs and fixings for $10 per person!

Check out "The Village flyers" web site. This is the flyers club. They have a listing for hangars. The private strips in the area do not have a welcome sign hanging out for non owners. Leesburg has about a 3 year waiting list if you want a hangar. The best bet is Ocala.

There is one west of BVB on SR 42 (northern boundry of TV) .... south side of 42. I think the name on the sign at SR42 is Dallas Airport.

I appreciate everyone's response and I just visited the Flying Palimino east of TV today. I met Steve Issacs who has an airplane who was very hospitable and friendly. Unfortunately, there is no opportunity there, at least for now. I'm only in TV for a couple days, but intend to look into all of the replys when I get back down. This place and the people are great!
