Just watching an old episode of The Roy Rogers show from the early fifties. I used to never miss an episode when I was a boy. It just dawned on me - how did we rationalize the incongruity of everyone dressing in clothes of the nineteenth century, riding saddle horses on dirt paths, wearing guns on their hips, all the while Pat Brady is running around in a post WWII jeep? I never questioned the logic when I was eight years old! :1rotfl:

In our neighborhood we did question it...but that was what made it fun to watch. Fast forward and what you see a hero do now goes well beyond hyperbole which takes much of the joy out of it because the true joy is watching what is humanly possible to achieve by stuntmen/women

Loved those cowboys and cowgirls. Gene Autry, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, Hoppalong Cassidy...The Cisco Kid...

and their comic relief sidekicks.

Oh Pancho!

Oh Pancho!

And The Lone Ranger. We all suspended belief and got lost in the magic of television.

I laugh now that Supermans disguise was a pair of glasses. LOL

My favorite was the singing cowboy, Gene Autry.
