This morning I was heading on the multi-modol path going towards the gate into Bonnybrook (Belvedere, I think the road is). I was on a divided part, when heading towards me was a white sedan with an elderly woman in it. I flagged her down and told her she couldn't be on that as it was for carts! She seemed to know it and said "I've never been here before! The path didn't have one of those white dividing stakes so that's how it happened, I'd guess.

My point of posting this is, NOT always are these incidents from our residents! It could happen with visitors. It still was a surprise to see this as I wasn't expecting it!!

Scary...but even visitors do get mixed up. I recently saw a car going the wrong way in a roundabout...2nd one I've seen.

Last week, I was behind a golf cart (not street legal) on Rt. 466 near Buena Vista Blvd. He continued on through the intersection of 466 & B.V. Blvd. When it was safe, I moved my car into the left lane. I rolled my window down and told him to it was illegal to drive on 466. He just shrugged his shoulders and kept on going all the way to Morse Blvd and turned right onto Morse.

He maybe couldn't hear you!!! THAT is scarey when you think about it!!! I'd recently heard a story of a golf cart going from Morse onto 466--headed towards Southern Trace. It was a woman driving, she might have had passengers as well. That too wasn't a street legal one. That being said--street legal's can't go on 466 or 466a (they can cross them at a controlled intersection, however). SCAREY---pay attention folks!!!!

Last Saturday morning around 9:30 my wife and I were approaching the Hadley gate, in our car, when we spotted the gate attendant standing on the grass out by the circle looking down the cart path towards the tunnel. What he was looking at was an SUV backing up the cart path from the tunnel!

Probably due to GPS instructing one to turn left when approaching the roundabout....it is taken literally Instead of paying attention to the signage showing its a oneway......

See this happpen a lot. Remember not much difference between a golf cart and a street legal golf cart. So I am not shocked. Remember years ago driving to wal-mart while they were building it, and we were stopped by a couple in a street-legal cart and they made a fuss about you cannot drive on the side road ,and I said whats the difference in this carts beside the plate and they could not come up with a good answer.

I am not there yet a lurker I guess, so I don't get it. How is it a street legal cart with a plate and lights seat belts etc. can't drive on a street? ANd if so then is a Low speed Vehicle something different yet again. I thought non street legal 19.6 miles per hour. street legal 30 miles per hour and equipped with safety stuff.

Sorry if I am thick.

Street legals have a max speed of 25 mph. They are allowed on streets with speed limits up to 30 mph, they can cross streets with speeds up to 45 mph if they have a traffic light at the crossing. 466 and 466a have speed limits above 30 MPH so you can not drive a street legal cart on those roads but you can cross them at the lights. LSV, NEV are all street legal.
