Anyone else being annoyed by this the last two nights? Not to be a party pooper but some of us do need to sleep.
Please feel free to call the Sumter Cty Sheriff Dept and encourage them to drive by. I live quite a ways away and have been listening to it loud and clear. Loved the yelling in the mic last night! I was told there is a noise ordinance that after 10pm this stuff is suppose to cease...however it just seems to get louder. I did make some calls last night. Definitely not feeling like giving them any of my business now.
The more complaints will hopefully quiet it down to a dull roar!

Kathie- Seriously...I live far enough away..toward morse side of sanibel where I shouldn't hear a peep out of them. That tells you how loud they have been. Not trying to start any fight or troll here, just asking others that are being annoyed to voice it to the appropriate persons. And actually I was thinking the breeze has been out of the NW so it should be pushing the sound away.
I seriously feel bad for those living right around them.

Bonifay closes at 9pm and they stop the music at 8:30pm. I do not know of any country clubs that are opened after 10 pm and that's usually only on Friday or Saturday nights.
Ohhappyday, are you sure its coming from Bonifay??

OHHAPPYDAY, if you are around awhile you will see that many things repeat themselves. You see Havanna used to have some great outdoor entertainment on the patio but those on the golf course complained and they stopped it. Now Havanna has suffered here and there ever since.
Make sure you check because the outdoor entertainment thing has been stopped after a certain time like KathieI said so the noise may be coming from somewhere else? Not sure though. Remember I am just a Wannabe.

I think the OP wants to get others fired up enough to call the Sheriff. Me, I sometimes hear music from LSL (I think), I like it.

I would rather hear music late at night than the speeding cars, trucks and golf maintenance vehicles starting at 5:30 am.

Music stops at 9:30 which is before the legal curfew. Your right here we go again. Same BS as when Havana was shut down. If the people who live right behind Bonifay ( if it was them ) or those in the Premiere section aren't complaining I just don't get it. All you here on here lately is food sucks, wait service is terrible, prices are to high, why all the same restaurants,I stepped in dog poop at the mail station what's wrong with the dog owners, the kids were throwing a sponge ball in the pool the other day, don't we have rules here. Wah,Wah.If all the places closed because of the complaints then we'd have to leave the bubble, then it would be more bitching about the shell station in Colony charging to much. I did my research before I moved here. Several CCs had music, some of the bars had music, Sumter County side of TV most of them were open to 11PM some till 12 but that was it. Shut down at 12MID. There are other very quiet retirement places, I visited them before moving here, they really sucked, that's why I.m here and a FROG. Here until I croak and as long as I'm looking down at the grass I want it all. My next place will be very quiet for a long time, that's when I move to my final resting place in Bushnell. JMO PS I can here the music from Sumter Landing at night sometimes, should they be shut down also??
I to doubt it was Bonifay

Oh is that what I heard from my lanai (Amherst Way in Gilchrist)? I was afraid a neighbor across the pond had a sound system and was playing it louder than mine! such a relief...

Great post!!! That being said we do hear many complaints here on this site. I for one LOVE The Villages and everything it has to offer. Just thought of a couple of times there were neighborhood parties....one was a New Year's party a couple of years ago that was held three or so streets over. They had a disc jockey (I think) so loud music and you could just hear all the raucus noise that goes with such an affair. It went til a bit past midnight. Now I'm sure NOT everyone stays up in the neighborhood to celebrate the silver ball coming down on television. I've also heard some noise from drive-way parties or just house parties...would NEVER call the police unless it was happening at 2 a.m. or so. I hope I don't grow old being known as grumpy and complaining.......jmho on so many levels!!!

The Villages is advertised as an active adult community with live music every day of the week. Why in the world would someone come here that is bothered by that. If you buy a house at the end of a runway, expect to hear planes.

I think what you were hearing the last couple of nights is the Leesburg motorcycle gathering. Last year it was on 466A near Fruitland. Think it was only for the weekend.

DING DING you won the prize. Nobody stops what they do over there, it's private property and they do party hearty at that location until they drop. The field is full of bikes, campers and tents besides the music. Good post.

You know this thread is an excellent example for the expression īt depends on whose ox is being gored". One poster wrote it is advertised as an adult retirement community" My expectation then is quiet at sunset. My wife's expectations it that its kool to party til 1999. Having said that what bothered the most about this thread are the posters who dismissed the OP's comments out of hands as though the OP didn't matter. Let see what happens when some gores their ox??????????

From the lanai, I noted that the music stopped early, which doesn't sound right for a rock out motorcycle party, and Fruitland Park is several miles away.

The link says the events go until 2 AM. Some concerts only started at 10 PM. Dubbed as world's largest 3 day motorcycle and music event. It was off in the distance and the last couple of nights have been very clear and cool so the soumd travels a long way. Most likely it is over now as it says the 26th-28th.

The threesome "Oldies but Goodies" played at Bonifay last night[Saturday] from 6:00 until 8:30.[and they were great] Don't know how finishing at 8:30 could cause a complaint-but perhaps it was something else

Maybe had the OP driven down there and found out IF it was coming from there instead of calling the sheriff and asking anybody else who was annoyed to call and complain it would have been different. Fot those who have been here for a while this isn't the first and I'm sure not the last loud music complaint. Eveytime a big deal is made petitions have been signed in the past, protests the whole 9 and what happened another nail was driven in Havana's coffin. Mallory had a complaint, Cody's etc. If it stops before curfew so be it. Chances are it wasn't Bonifay at all, especially when someone else was there and said it stopped at 8:30. That's not to late!

Sound traveling from Leesburg to the south side of TV...........some don't have a clue how far Leesburg really is.
If anything it maybe coming from the rodeo site on 466A about a mile east of the shell station, there are a lot of Bikefest attendees camping out at that site.........maybe.

The reason I was guessing that it might be coming from somewhere else is, that I know that Bonifay is adamant about shutting down music at 8:30. So it had to be something else. Yes, the bikers were all over 466A last night when I was heading home around 11pm. But another thought is, Burkes BBQ is now having music and some of my neighbors have told me that they hear loud music coming from there at night. I don't know, cause I'm never home but that's why I was thinking it might be Burke's music that's bothering the OP... From Burke's to Morse, is exactly 1 mile and from Morse and 466A to my house is one mile, so my guess is its coming from there.
The biker events went until 2am but I think Leesburg cops had a tight grip on those guys cause they didn't show up at Legends the other night and we stayed open until 2am for them.

Soooo - does a Village Sales Agent have the responsiblity of mentioning to someone looking at a home near a cc that night time music could be an issue? If someone is new they may not have a clue what goes on at night so whose responsibility is it to advise them? Actually even if they had a clue they may not understand how sound travels through here sooooo??????

I think that since the music stops by 9:00, there is no great need to advise about "noise" other than to state that the clubs have entertainment going until that time. Now, if entertainment was scheduled until much later, a different story. It is probably more vital for a resale. For new homes, if the proximity to the country club and its entertaintment could be a problem, there are more lots available elsewhere.

I'll bet the person or persons waiting for the EMERGENCY vehicle are glad to hear them coming. PS. That's a Fire Truck I rode in for 42 years befpre retiring to The Villages.

Maybe if we had read post number 18 we would have a better clue as to what was said about the possible location of the music.
From post 18: (Last year it was on 466A near Fruitland. Think it was only for the weekend.)
It was going strong last 2 nights, none tonight but what does it really matter. The rodeo site on 466A is always involved with the motorcycle events.
Some don't have a clue how far loud music can travel but guess we never want to miss a chance to get in a jab on anything we can even if we are wrong.....this makes TOTV really (un) friendly
